Gourmet Grain

Our Mission

At Gourmet Grain, we know the importance of options. We are taking gluten-free bread to the next level by introducing a line of high quality, fruity, gluten-free bread products that are available to the masses. Try our three fruity flavored loaves: Banana, Cinnamon-Raisin, or Cranberry-Orange.

Gourmet Grain is designed to be a southern-style bakery that sells freshly baked bread, but makes flavored gluten-free bread available in stores such as Walmart, Shoppers, and Bloom. The logo uses a script display typeface paired with a gourmet chef hat that fits nicely around the curve for a personified look. The gold-brown color contrasts well with the deep red, giving off a southern tone that has a classic and professional look.

Developing a logo for Gourmet Grain was no easy task. The overall feel of Gourmet Grain is fancy, elegant, and professional. A small town bakery found a way to mass produce their highly in-demand bread. A slight alteration to the "Alex Brush" typeface made for a nice angled curve on the first "G" to allow the chef hat fit snug on top. Of course, for a gourmet chef is needed, naturally a chef's hat is appropriate.

For the packaging of gluten-free bread, a single color was added to the defined color scheme of the logo. The color depends on the fruity flavor of the bread. Packaging also features the bakery's back story, gluten-free and 100% organic certification, and two gluten-free recipes as well as the mission statement of the bakery.

It was a given that the concept for the advertisement portion of the project a serving dish was going to be used. Using stock photography, images depicting a fancy restaurant server were fixed with a lovely loaf of gluten-free cinnamon-raisin bread (photoshopped by Meghan Kube).
