WHAT PEOPLE SAY

“A very cute story in a clever book! The artistic detail the author/illustrator put into each character is wonderful. I hope this becomes a series so we can see more of the characters' personalities. I highly recommend this book.”

About the Book

What started out as a college project soon become a main goal. When developing the short story version, I realized there was more potential here. I kept working and reworking the ideas, sketching and redrawing the scenes until I was happy with it.

The book features 11 different monsters, each with their own special musical ability. Instruments such as tubas, drums, flutes, and even voices, make up Squirt's symphony. When combined, their rhythms and tempos mesh together to resonate an alluring sound.

Monsters were carefully designed to portray their talents and their nature, such as the Xylertle and Bushelhorn. Check out the Monster Files to learn more.

About the Author

I grew up in what once was a small town, Stafford, Virginia. From a young age, I have alway been getting into something, whether it was paint, chalk, glue, or construction paper. I was alway full of ideas.

When I went to high school, I elected to take a graphic communications class and ended up loving it. It involved everything I love about art, but in a new light. It was the reason I decided to major in Graphic Design when I went to college.

I attended Northern Virginia Community College while working part time at Dominos™ in 2011. It was nowhere near what I wanted to do with my life, but it allowed me  to support myself in the mean time. During those years in school, I was in art shows, internships, and unfortunately physical education classes, where I also got to play tennis, which was an upside to the P.E.

I graduated NOVA with an A.A.S in Communication Design 3 years later. I was lucky enough to start working with Lowe's™ after I graduated which allowed me to grow in ways I never thought I would. Experience was the key.

But that was also when I fell ill and was diagnosed with diabetes. Like any bad news would do to someone, I struggled with life. I was determined not to be limited, though. Before falling ill, I knew what I wanted to accomplish.

In hindsight, becoming diabetic helped push me to actually achieve my goal. With support from family and friends, and even co-workers, I pushed myself to the limit and benefited far beyond my beliefs.

Today, I continue to work on book ideas and illustrations while working a full time job (still) at Lowe's™. But the real fun begins on my down time.

I have way more to come your way, so stay tuned.
